Get ready for your new, deliciously soapy legal obsession: Partner Track. The series follows ambitious young lawyer Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho) as she climbs the ladder at the prestigious (and stuffy) New York City law firm Parsons Valentine and navigates a steamy love triangle.

Partner Track follows the cutthroat world of a high-powered New York law firm.

“We’re set in Manhattan and it’s sexy and fun and dreamy and glamorous,” Cho tells Tudum. And while there’s a lot of kissing, there’s even more lawyering — don’t forget that Ingrid and her fellow senior associates are still “serious lawyers” who are all vying for promotion to junior partner.

Here’s your guide to the cutthroat world of Parsons Valentine.

Ingrid’s love interests include wealthy society bigwig Nick Laren (Rob Heaps) and English co-worker (and former one-night-stand) Jeff Murphy (Dominic Sherwood). Nolan Gerard Funk plays Ingrid’s smarmy rival Dan Fallon, and Matthew Rauch is Ingrid’s no-nonsense boss Marty Adler. Check out the full cast (and where you’ve seen them before) here.

The Plot

Ingrid Yun is a first-generation Korean-American mergers and acquisitions lawyer navigating her way through an elite Manhattan law firm — one with old-minded attitudes toward race and inclusion. As she fights to make junior partner, she must figure out how to balance romance, friends and family expectations while staying true to her moral compass.

The series is based on the book The Partner Track by former lawyer Helen Wan, who, as Cho notes, was inspired by “her experiences and things she saw in an actual law firm” over the course of Wan’s own decades-long legal career.
