    1860: As an Italian army advances from the north to conquer Sicily, the Prince of Salina contends with his nephew's decision to fight for the enemy.
  • Episode 2
    Hoping to obtain a travel permit to Donnafugata, the Salinas attend Garibaldi's Liberation Ball, where Tancredi sees others vie for Concetta's affection.
  • Episode 3
    Tancredi's attraction to Angelica pulls him away from Concetta. Despite his distaste for Mayor Sedara, Don Fabrizio considers joint future prospects.
  • Episode 4
    While Concetta distances herself from her family, the Leopard entrusts more responsibilities to Paolo, whom Sedara informs of an enticing venture.

    Still grieving, the Prince and Concetta travel to Turin, where a role in Italy's future awaits him. Tancredi and Angelica expose their ambitions.
