The fourth and final season of the sci-fi dramedy — now streaming on Netflix — features Tudyk’s fellow Firefly castmate Jewel Staite and two-time RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon in guest star roles.
Following the Season 3 finale in which Harry (Tudyk) and friends successfully raided the Greys’ moonbase and stopped them from terraforming Earth (which in turn would kill all humans), the crew returns to Patience believing they can start a new chapter in their lives — despite mourning the (supposed) loss of Harry’s half-human, half-alien son Bridget to enemy forces at the base. But all is not as it seems: the Harry that’s back on Earth is actually a shapeshifting alien called the Mantid (Brown) who had been held prisoner by the Greys. Using Harry as cover, the Mantid begins to make his own plans to conquer the little town of Patience, and then, the world. When Harry’s friends begin to suspect something’s wrong due to the Mantid’s odd behavior, he takes drastic measures to ensure his secret doesn’t get out.
Meanwhile, at the Greys’ moonbase, the real Harry and his son Bridget sit in a jail cell plotting their way home. With the help of a human abductee and fellow prisoner named Robert Hutchins (Piaskowski), Harry manages to trick Bruce Dern (Monsoon), their Grey alien guard, into freeing them in exchange for passage to Earth. Harry and Bridget rush home to their loved ones after a month in confinement, but have no idea of the new obstacles awaiting them.
