Anchors aweigh, Straw Hats. The Grand Line is on the horizon!
ONE PIECE Season 2 unleashes fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet as our brave crew ventures into the legendary stretch of sea to find the world’s greatest treasure: the fabled One Piece. All eight episodes are available to stream now.
“The first season set up the promise of entering the Grand Line,” co-showrunner, executive producer, and writer Joe Tracz tells Tudum. “We’re going to make good on that promise,” he says of Season 2, which is titled ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line.

In the extraordinary adventure, Luffy (played by Iñaki Godoy), Nami (Emily Rudd), Zoro (Mackenyu), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar) journey through an unpredictable realm where they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of deadly new adversaries from Baroque Works, the dangerous and formidable secret society of assassins that was teased in Season 1 (RIP Mr. 7).
“Every place they stop in the Grand Line is going to test one of the Straw Hats in a unique way,” Tracz notes. “They’re going to learn that if they’re going to fulfill their dreams, they have to have each other’s backs.”

Monkey D. Luffy is the larger-than-life, eternally optimistic leader of the Straw Hats crew. Stubborn to a fault, Luffy is entirely focused on becoming King of the Pirates. “He wants to find the ultimate treasure, the One Piece, and he wants to go on many adventures with his friends,” Godoy says.
In Season 2, he’s “still this optimistic, happy-go-lucky guy” who’ll do anything for his friends and go to great lengths to achieve his dreams. Now that he has his crew, “nothing is impossible for Luffy,” Godoy adds. “He’s very, very excited about his adventures.”
Don't Open the Door, The Imperfects, ¿Quién mató a Sara?, MexZombies, Go Youth!, Blue Demon

Nami is the crew’s expert navigator and cartographer with a penchant for thievery. In Season 1, Nami was fiercely independent and kept the Straw Hats at arms length; however, that changed after they helped Nami save her village. Now she’s ready to hit the seas with the gang and fulfill her dream of mapping the world.
When Season 2 begins, Nami has fully embraced her role as the big sister of the crew. “She’s just so much more free and so much happier and more playful,” says Rudd. “You can see Nami interacting with the boys in a way that she really didn’t last season … She’s relaxed into her friendship with all of them, and she really does feel like this is her family now.”
Hunters, Fear Street Part 2: 1978, Fear Street Part 3: 1666, Hunters

Enemies beware: Zoro is a lethal pirate hunter on a mission to fulfill a promise to become the world’s greatest swordsman. To do so, he must defeat the best of the best.
At the end of Season 1, Zoro joined his Straw Hats crewmates around a barrel and pledged to achieve his dreams with them by his side. In Season 2, he’s determined to see it through. “Zoro is stronger, sharper, and more powerful,” Mackenyu says. “He has become a lot more dangerous and deadly.”
Assassin's Creed Shadows, Pacific Rim: Uprising, the Fullmetal Alchemist film series, Knights of the Zodiac

The marksman of the crew, Usopp approaches the world with childlike wonder and dreams of becoming a great warrior of the sea. More often than not, he acts before he thinks, which gets him into trouble. However, he has a good heart with deep, abiding loyalty for those he cares about.
He’s “finding his bravery this season,” Romero notes, as the Straw Hats sail into the Grand Line. “There are bigger monsters, bigger challenges. But Usopp finds a way to overcome it, so I’m really excited to see him show up.”
Rap Sh!t, Greenleaf, Grey’s Anatomy, All Rise, The Resident

Sanji, the honorable chef of the crew, is as charming and flirtatious as Laboon is large. He dreams of finding the All Blue, said to be the only place in the world where fish from all four seas — East Blue, West Blue, North Blue, and South Blue — can be found.
“He’s very individualist in the sense that he does his own thing,” Skylar says. Season 2 is “very much about him learning to exist within the team [and] rely on people, which is something I don’t think comes very naturally to him.”
Cleaner, Gassed Up, The Lazarus Project, Agatha Raisin, Boiling Point, The Deal, Villain, Lie Low, The Kill Team

Big City Greens, Daybreak, Mythic Quest, True Blood, Magic Mike

A skilled fighter and partner to Mr. 9, Miss Wednesday becomes entangled with the Straw Hats while pursuing her own agenda.
Chandran calls the character “a baddie, literally and figuratively.” As viewers will learn, there’s more to Miss Wednesday than meets the eye.
Mr. 9 acts as the muscle of their dynamic pairing while Miss Wednesday is the strategist. “I think her skill is that she can stay super calm under pressure,” Chandran explains. “Any environment she’s in, she can just scan and come up with a plan that will deliver the outcome that she wants.”
Dune: Prophecy, Nikhil & Jay, The Death and Life of River Song, Alex Rider

Mr. 9 is a high-ranking member of Baroque Works and Miss Wednesday’s partner. As the muscle to her brain, he’s hungry to prove himself and craves validation.
“Mr. 9 is someone who is desperately seeking approval and validation for the skills he has to offer,” Lasker explains.
The character bears distinct number 9 tattoos on his cheeks, which was “one of the trickiest things to get right about the character visually,” Lasker says. “I think we did about 12 applications of those 9s in the first test until we were satisfied with how they looked.”
London Calling, Raised by Wolves, American Monster

Enigmatic, dangerous, and intelligent, Miss All Sunday is Mr. 0’s right hand.

You don’t want to cross paths with Mr. 3, an egocentric and sadistic strategist who thrives on turning his victims into spooky art installations.
“Mr. 3 and his partner, Miss Goldenweek, are the Baroque Works agents that other agents are terrified of,” Tracz says. “They’re like the creepy artist serial killers of Baroque Works.”
Dexter: Resurrection, Murderbot, Oppenheimer, The Suicide Squad, Dune: Part One

Mr. 5 is a suave hit man with elite style and an arrogant demeanor to match. Although he considers friendship to be a weakness, he holds great respect for his partner, Miss Valentine.
“Mr. 5’s look was inspired by Lenny Kravitz,” Johnson says. “He’s cooler than cool, he’s smooth, he’s swaggy, he’s dry, but he’s also dangerous — and he’s not afraid to remind you of that.”
Batwoman, Quiz Lady, The Sun Is Also a Star

Miss Valentine is Mr. 5’s stylish partner in crime. Self-absorbed and ruthless, she takes pleasure in her work and enjoys playing with targets and hunting them down.
“She’s really overconfident and cocky and witty and sexy, but she also has a very short temper and does not like to be ignored or ridiculed,” Jaslyn notes.
The character’s look is heavily inspired by fashion icon Twiggy. “She has this gorgeous ’60s style and essence to her, which has been really fun to play,” the actor adds.
London Calling, Warrior, Lioness, Professionals

Mr. 11 takes pride in his rank, so much so that he has it tattooed across his face. This arrogant agent rocks a three-piece suit and wears a top hat on a massive bush of hair.

The Straw Hats will encounter unparalleled cuteness with Chopper, a kawaii blue-nosed reindeer-boy hybrid who studied to become a doctor and dreams of curing any disease. But don’t let his sweet face fool you. When his friends are in trouble, he can summon surprising strength.
“What excited me about playing Chopper is the tug of war between his standoffishness and his huge heart,” Hoover tells Tudum. “He tries so hard to hide his emotions and put on a tough exterior, but underneath, he’s a big softy, and his love can’t help but come out.”
Superman, Dead Giveaway, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Suicide Squad, Love Hard, 2 Broke Girls

This military man has a rebellious streak and takes a merciless approach to those he deems a danger to society.
“In any other show, he’d be the hero of the story,” Tracz says of the character. “He’s a bad guy to us because he’s trying to stop pirates, but in his mind, that’s [what] a good guy should be doing.”
The Wheel of Time, Monarch, Flowers in the Attic: The Origin, Four Weddings and a Funeral

This metal-jawed villain is the tyrant king of Drum Island who wields terrifying power and has a gluttonous appetite.
“Wapol is a very selfish, very spoiled man who’s carrying a lot of pain and does not astutely know how to navigate it,” Colletti explains. “That leads to a multitude of instances of hilarity and trauma that ultimately play out in a pretty impactful way in the storyline.”
